How high to mount it

Centre of the screen at seated eye level, about 42 inches from the floor. On a 85-inch panel that is a bottom edge near 21 inches and a top edge near 63 inches (5' 3"), and it wants roughly 9.5 feet of viewing distance. At this size the bottom edge sits below the top of most media consoles, so either the console moves or the screen goes higher than ideal.

If you need to tilt it

If it needs to swivel

Corner installations, open-plan rooms and kitchens usually want an articulating arm. Bear in mind that a full-motion mount applies far more turning force to the wall than a fixed plate does, so at 71.8 lb these want solid framing rather than anchors.

What else the job needs

The two things that stall a TCL install most often are hardware and cable length. Box hardware does not always include the right bolt for a specific panel, and the HDMI cable that reached the old stand rarely reaches once the TV is on the wall.
