Can my 1990s TV niche hold a flat screen?

Often. The opening needs about an inch of clearance on each side of the panel and enough depth for the bracket plus the back of the TV. If it fits, the TV mounts inside on a slim tilt bracket lagged into the framing that boxes the niche. If it does not, mention it when you book.

Las Vegas walls: stucco tract, niches and block

Most of the valley was built from the 1980s on, with stucco outside and drywall over wood studs inside, so a typical install is lag bolts into studs. Two local features show up in the housing: the family-room TV niche from the 1990s, and concrete block in the older houses near the middle of the valley.
