Soundbar Installation

We wall-mount soundbars from every major brand including Sonos Arc and Beam, Bose Smart Soundbar 900, Samsung HW-Q990D, LG SP11RA, JBL Bar 1300, and Vizio M-Series. Each bar is secured using the manufacturer's mounting template and hardware, or a universal bracket for models that ship without one. We laser-level the bar to match the TV above it, ensuring perfect alignment. For heavy premium bars like the Sonos Arc (14 lbs) or Samsung Q990D (16 lbs), we anchor into studs rather than relying on drywall anchors alone. The soundbar sits two to four inches below the TV's bottom edge to avoid blocking the IR receiver.

The connection between your TV and soundbar determines audio quality and control convenience. HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) carries compressed Dolby Digital and DTS, while eARC handles lossless Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Optical (TOSLINK) is the reliable fallback for older TVs that lack ARC. We identify the best connection for your specific TV and soundbar combination, configure the TV audio output settings, enable HDMI-CEC so the TV remote controls soundbar volume and power, and verify that all audio formats pass through correctly. If your TV's ARC port is in an awkward location, we run a short HDMI cable behind the wall to keep the connection invisible.

Factory-default sound profiles are tuned for an average room that looks nothing like yours. Hard floors reflect sound differently than carpet, vaulted ceilings scatter bass, and open floor plans leak audio into adjacent spaces. We use each manufacturer's room-correction tool -- Sonos Trueplay, Samsung SpaceFit Sound, LG AI Room Calibration -- to measure your room's acoustic signature and optimize EQ, channel levels, and subwoofer crossover automatically. For bars without auto-calibration, we manually adjust bass, treble, dialogue enhancement, and surround width using reference test tracks until speech is crystal clear and action scenes have impactful low end without rattling the windows.

The subwoofer's position in the room has a dramatic effect on bass response. Placing it in a corner boosts low frequencies but can make bass boomy and one-note. Pulling it a foot or two away from walls tightens the sound. We test the subwoofer in three to four positions using a frequency sweep, listening for smooth response without peaks or nulls at your primary seating position. Once we find the sweet spot, we pair the sub wirelessly to the soundbar, set the crossover frequency, match the volume level to the main bar, and verify that the sub and bar are phase-aligned so bass arrives at your ears at the same time as midrange audio.

Many premium soundbar systems include wireless rear surround speakers that create a true 5.1, 7.1, or even Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 experience. We mount rear speakers on stands or wall brackets at ear height, positioned slightly behind and to the sides of your seating area per Dolby's placement guidelines. Each satellite is wirelessly paired to the soundbar, level-matched to the front channels, and distance- calibrated so surround effects pan smoothly across the room. The result is enveloping surround sound without running speaker wire across the floor or under the carpet.
