At 37 lb it sits in the mainstream weight band, so the field of compatible mounts is wide. Two lag bolts into a single stud will hold it, though spanning two studs is always better.

This is an OLED panel, which matters when you handle it. OLED sets are unusually thin and light for their size — 37 lb across 48 inches — but that thinness means the panel flexes, and flexing an OLED is how they crack. Carry and lift it vertically, never flat, and never rest it face-down on an uneven surface while you attach the brackets.

Where the bolts land relative to your studs

At only 11.8 inches across, this pattern is narrower than the 16 inches between studs — the TV's mounting holes sit between them. The mount's wall plate has to be wide enough to reach two studs, or you need a single-stud mount rated for the full panel weight.

In practice that means checking one spec people skip: the width of the mount's wall plate. A plate under about 16 inches wide can only reach one stud, and a single-stud mount carrying 37 lb wants to be explicitly rated for that. Mounts listed as fitting 16, 18 and 24-inch studs are the safe answer here, because they give you somewhere to land whatever your framing actually does.

How high to mount it

Put the centre of the screen at seated eye level — about 42 inches from the floor for a normal sofa. On a 55-inch panel that puts the bottom edge at roughly 29 inches and the top at roughly 55 inches, or 4' 7" in feet and inches.

A 55-inch panel leaves comfortable clearance above a normal console at this height, so the usual constraint is the wall itself rather than the furniture. It also wants a viewing distance of roughly 6.1 feet for balanced viewing, so check that against where your seating actually is.

If a console or a mantel forces it higher, mount as low as the obstruction allows and use a tilting mount to angle the screen back toward you. Mounting above eye level — over a fireplace, a dresser or a tall console — means the screen should angle down toward you. These tilt mounts are rated for the G5's pattern and weight.

If it needs to swivel

Corner installations, open-plan rooms and kitchens usually want an articulating arm. Bear in mind that a full-motion mount applies far more leverage to the wall than a fixed plate does, so at 37 lb these want solid framing rather than anchors.

What else the job needs

The two things that stall a LG install most often are hardware and cable length. Box hardware does not always include the right bolt for a specific panel, and the HDMI cable that reached the old stand rarely reaches once the TV is on the wall.
