Field notes from Miramar installs
Miramar is a young housing market by South Florida standards. The bulk of the city, especially everything west of Flamingo Road through SilverLakes, Sunset Lakes, Vizcaya, and the Miramar Parkway corridor, was built during the 1990s-2000s growth wave. That timing matters: a large share of Miramar homes went up after the 2002 code changes that made HVHZ impact construction the standard, so the walls are impact-rated CBS stucco and the windows are already impact glass from the builder. Your installer treats nearly every Miramar exterior wall as solid concrete block: SDS hammer drill, carbide bit, Tapcon anchors rated past 200 lbs.
Interior partition walls in the newer two-story models are a different animal, often metal stud and drywall, so the installer reads each wall before committing hardware and carries SnapToggle anchors for the partition sections. A stud finder that reads nothing on an exterior wall confirms CBS; a clean positive read on an interior wall flags metal stud.
The lakes shape the work too. SilverLakes and Sunset Lakes are built around water, and plenty of lots back onto it, which makes screened-lanai and covered-patio TVs a steady Miramar request. For those we switch to 316 stainless hardware and damp-rated cable conduit, because Miramar humidity and the occasional salt drift off a breezy lake will chew through zinc-plated parts inside a season.
TV mounting prices in Miramar
Miramar TV mounting starts at $149 (basic up to 54”), $199 (large 55-69”), $259 (XL 70-79”), $319 (XXL 80-inch+). Cable concealment $119/TV. Impact-rated CBS block and stucco-over-block are the standard South Florida wall and carry no surcharge; the +$119 surcharge applies only to coral rock or oolitic limestone, historic plaster, or post-tension high-rise slabs where drilling is restricted.
