Wall Mounts for the Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch
VESA 200 × 200 mm · 34.6 lb · 2026 True RGB Mini-LED LCD
The Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch (K-50XR70M2) uses a VESA 200 × 200 mm mounting pattern and weighs about 34.6 lb without its stand. Any wall mount that supports 200 × 200 mm, is rated above 34.6 lb and covers 50-inch screens will fit it.

Its 200 × 200 mm pattern is a standard VESA size, so any mount listing that spacing within its supported range bolts straight on. At 34.6 lb it sits in the mainstream weight band, so the field of compatible mounts is wide. Two lag bolts into a single stud hold it, though spanning two studs is always better.
That is roughly 28 per cent above the 27 lb median for a 50-inch screen, so a bracket chosen on size alone may well be under-rated for it. This is a True RGB Mini-LED LCD panel. The backlight array and heat-spreader layers add real weight over a basic LED set of the same size, which is why it comes in at 34.6 lb. Check your bracket's rating against that number rather than a generic figure for 50-inch TVs.
Where the bolts land relative to your studs
At only 7.9 inches across, this pattern is narrower than the 16 inches between studs, the TV's mounting holes sit between them. The mount's wall plate has to be wide enough to reach two studs, or you need a single-stud mount rated for the full panel weight.
So check the width of the mount's wall plate, not just its VESA range. Carrying 34.6 lb off a single stud needs a bracket explicitly rated for it.

How high to mount it
Centre of the screen at seated eye level, about 42 inches from the floor. On a 50-inch panel that is a bottom edge near 30 inches and a top edge near 54 inches (4' 6"), and it wants roughly 5.6 feet of viewing distance. That clears a normal console comfortably, so the wall itself is usually the binding constraint rather than the furniture.
The height calculator works this out for your own seating and eye height, and the fireplace planner covers the above-a-mantel case including heat clearance.
If you need to tilt it
Mounting above eye level, over a fireplace, a dresser or a tall console, means the screen should angle down toward you. These tilt mounts are rated for the XR70M2's pattern and weight.

Corner installations, open-plan rooms and kitchens usually want an articulating arm. Bear in mind that a full-motion mount applies far more turning force to the wall than a fixed plate does, so at 34.6 lb these want solid framing rather than anchors.

The two things that stall a Sony install most often are hardware and cable length. Box hardware does not always include the right bolt for a specific panel, and the HDMI cable that reached the old stand rarely reaches once the TV is on the wall.

The XR70M2 does not use one pattern across the range. Your 50-inch is 200 × 200 mm, while the 75-inch is 300 × 300, the 85-inch is 400 × 400. A mount will not simply transfer between sizes here, so check the size you actually own.

Frequently asked questions
What VESA size is the Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch?
The Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch uses a VESA 200 × 200 mm mounting pattern, meaning 200 mm horizontally and 200 mm vertically between the four threaded holes on the back of the panel. Its 200 × 200 mm pattern is a standard VESA size, so any mount listing that spacing within its supported range bolts straight on.
How much does the Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch weigh?
Without its stand, the Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch weighs about 34.6 lb. Wall mount ratings are quoted for the bare panel, so that is the number to shop against. That is roughly 28 per cent above the 27 lb median for a 50-inch screen, so a bracket chosen on size alone may well be under-rated for it. At 34.6 lb it sits in the mainstream weight band, so the field of compatible mounts is wide. Two lag bolts into a single stud hold it, though spanning two studs is always better.
How high should I mount a Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch?
Put the centre of the screen at your seated eye level, about 42 inches from the floor for a standard sofa. On a 50-inch panel that puts the bottom edge around 30 inches from the floor and the top around 54 inches. Where a fireplace or a console forces it higher, mount as low as the obstruction allows and use a tilting bracket to angle the screen back toward you.
What size mount do I need for the Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch?
You need a mount that supports a VESA pattern of at least 200 × 200 mm, is rated above 34.6 lb, and lists 50 inches inside its supported screen-size range. All three have to be true. A bracket that covers the size range but is rated below the weight is the mismatch we see most.
Will a 200 × 200 mount reach my studs?
At only 7.9 inches across, this pattern is narrower than the 16 inches between studs, the TV's mounting holes sit between them. The mount's wall plate has to be wide enough to reach two studs, or you need a single-stud mount rated for the full panel weight. Look for a mount whose wall plate is listed as fitting 16, 18 or 24-inch studs. That gives you somewhere to land regardless of what your framing actually does, which is rarely as regular as the plans suggest.
Can the Sony BRAVIA 7 II True RGB XR70M2 50-inch be mounted on drywall without studs?
We would not. At 34.6 lb this panel belongs on framing. Hollow-wall anchors are rated for a static pull in ideal conditions, whereas a wall mount applies constant turning force, and an articulating arm multiplies it. Find the studs, or on masonry use sleeve anchors into the brick body.
