Mounting specification

300 × 300 mm is one of the standard VESA sizes, which keeps the field wide. If a bracket's range covers it, the holes line up. 72.8 lb puts this above what a lot of 77-inch brackets actually carry, whatever their size range says. Read the weight rating before the size range, and put every bolt into framing.

That is roughly 10 per cent above the 66 lb median for a 77-inch screen, so a bracket chosen on size alone may well be under-rated for it. This is an OLED panel, which matters when you handle it. OLED sets are unusually thin and light for their size, 72.8 lb across 67 inches, but that thinness means the panel flexes, and flexing an OLED is how they crack. Carry and lift it vertically, never flat, and never rest it face-down on an uneven surface while you attach the brackets.

Where the bolts land relative to your studs

At only 11.8 inches across, this pattern is narrower than the 16 inches between studs, the TV's mounting holes sit between them. The mount's wall plate has to be wide enough to reach two studs, or you need a single-stud mount rated for the full panel weight.

So check the width of the mount's wall plate, not just its VESA range. Carrying 72.8 lb off a single stud needs a bracket explicitly rated for it.

How high to mount it

Centre of the screen at seated eye level, about 42 inches from the floor. On a 77-inch panel that is a bottom edge near 23 inches and a top edge near 61 inches (5' 1"), and it wants roughly 8.6 feet of viewing distance. That bottom edge lands close to the height of a typical console, so check the clearance before you mark the wall.

If you need to tilt it

Mounting above eye level, over a fireplace, a dresser or a tall console, means the screen should angle down toward you. These tilt mounts are rated for the G6's pattern and weight.

If it needs to swivel

Corner installations, open-plan rooms and kitchens usually want an articulating arm. Bear in mind that a full-motion mount applies far more turning force to the wall than a fixed plate does, so at 72.8 lb these want solid framing rather than anchors.

What else the job needs

Two things send people back to the shop mid-install: a bolt that does not fit this panel, and an HDMI cable measured for a TV that used to sit on a stand. Both are cheap to solve before you start.

The G6 does not use one pattern across the range. Your 77-inch is 300 × 300 mm, while the 55-inch is 300 × 200, the 65-inch is 300 × 300, the 83-inch is 400 × 400, the 97-inch is 600 × 400. A mount will not simply transfer between sizes here, so check the size you actually own.
