TCL lists the 2026 QM8L (SQD-Mini LED) in 65, 75, 85 and 98 inches. 8 of the 12 TCL 98-inch models from 2024 to 2026 in this research use 600 × 500 mm; the others use 600 × 400 (3) or 600 × 600 (1). 5 of them weigh more than this one. 121.3 lb is about 22% under the 155 lb typical of 98-inch panels, which leaves more brackets to choose from.
What changed from the 2024 TCL QM851G
- Pattern: 600 × 600 mm on the QM851G, 600 × 500 mm on the QM8L. An older bracket fits only if its VESA range also covers 600 × 500 mm.
- Weight: 147.3 lb then, 121.3 lb now (26 lb lighter).
- Screws: M8 on both.
- Plan on a new bracket unless the old one's range reaches 600 × 500 mm.

Screws, studs and height
TCL lists M8 screws for the four holes. Use the screws that match that thread from the bracket's kit, and stop if one bottoms out before the plate is tight: a spacer fixes that, force does not.
The holes are 23.6 in apart side to side, wider than 16-inch stud spacing, so a standard wall plate reaches a stud on each side.
With the center at 42 in for sofa seating, a 98-inch screen runs from about 18 in to 66 in off the floor. In a bedroom the center goes 42 to 50 in. The height calculator works it out for your own seat.
