TCL lists the 2026 QM8L (SQD-Mini LED) in 65, 75, 85 and 98 inches. 8 of the 12 TCL 65-inch models from 2024 to 2026 in this research use 300 × 300 mm; the others use 400 × 300 (3) or 400 × 400 (1). 1 of them weigh more than this one. 46.5 lb is close to the 47 lb typical of 65-inch panels, so size-rated brackets are in the right range; check the rating anyway.
The 2024 TCL QM751G 65-inch (65QM751G) lists the same 300 × 300 mm pattern at 45.9 lb (46.5 lb here), so the mounts matched here fit it on paper. It is a QD-Mini LED set; this one is a SQD-Mini LED set. QM751G 65-inch mount page →
What changed from the 2024 TCL QM851G
- Pattern: 400 × 400 mm on the QM851G, 300 × 300 mm on the QM8L. An older bracket fits only if its VESA range also covers 300 × 300 mm.
- Weight: 51.2 lb then, 46.5 lb now (4.7 lb lighter).
- Screws: M6 on both.
- Plan on a new bracket unless the old one's range reaches 300 × 300 mm.
How often mount patterns change between model years →
Screws, studs and height
TCL lists M6 screws for the four holes. Use the screws that match that thread from the bracket's kit, and stop if one bottoms out before the plate is tight: a spacer fixes that, force does not.
The holes are only 11.8 in apart side to side, less than the 16 in between studs. The mount's wall plate has to reach two studs on its own, so check its width, not just its VESA range.
With the center at 42 in for sofa seating, a 65-inch screen runs from about 26 in to 58 in off the floor. In a bedroom the center goes 42 to 50 in. The height calculator works it out for your own seat.

No. Drywall alone is for TVs up to about 32 in and 30 lb on rated toggle anchors. At 65 in and 46.5 lb it needs the bolts in studs, or masonry anchors in brick or concrete.
