Wall Mounts for the Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch
VESA 300 × 300 mm · 24.6 lb · 2026 Full-Array LED
The Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch (K-50XR30M2) uses a VESA 300 × 300 mm mounting pattern and weighs about 24.6 lb without its stand. Any wall mount that supports 300 × 300 mm, is rated above 24.6 lb and covers 50-inch screens will fit it.

Its 300 × 300 mm pattern is a standard VESA size, so any mount listing that spacing within its supported range will bolt straight on. At 24.6 lb the panel is light enough that almost any mount rated for its size will carry it comfortably — the VESA pattern, not the weight, is what limits your choice here.
This is a conventional LED-backlit LCD panel, which at 24.6 lb is toward the lighter end for a 50-inch screen. That widens the field of compatible mounts, but it does not change the rule that the fixings go into framing.
Where the bolts land relative to your studs
At only 11.8 inches across, this pattern is narrower than the 16 inches between studs — the TV's mounting holes sit between them. The mount's wall plate has to be wide enough to reach two studs, or you need a single-stud mount rated for the full panel weight.
In practice that means checking one spec people skip: the width of the mount's wall plate. A plate under about 16 inches wide can only reach one stud, and a single-stud mount carrying 24.6 lb wants to be explicitly rated for that. Mounts listed as fitting 16, 18 and 24-inch studs are the safe answer here, because they give you somewhere to land whatever your framing actually does.

How high to mount it
Put the centre of the screen at seated eye level — about 42 inches from the floor for a normal sofa. On a 50-inch panel that puts the bottom edge at roughly 30 inches and the top at roughly 54 inches, or 4' 6" in feet and inches.
A 50-inch panel leaves comfortable clearance above a normal console at this height, so the usual constraint is the wall itself rather than the furniture. It also wants a viewing distance of roughly 5.6 feet for balanced viewing, so check that against where your seating actually is.
If a console or a mantel forces it higher, mount as low as the obstruction allows and use a tilting mount to angle the screen back toward you. The height calculator works out the exact number for your seating position, and the fireplace planner handles the above-the-mantel case including heat clearance.
If you need to tilt it
Mounting above eye level — over a fireplace, a dresser or a tall console — means the screen should angle down toward you. These tilt mounts are rated for the XR30M2's pattern and weight.

If it needs to swivel
Corner installations, open-plan rooms and kitchens usually want an articulating arm. Bear in mind that a full-motion mount applies far more leverage to the wall than a fixed plate does, so at 24.6 lb these want solid framing rather than anchors.

What else the job needs
The two things that stall a Sony install most often are hardware and cable length. Box hardware does not always include the right bolt for a specific panel, and the HDMI cable that reached the old stand rarely reaches once the TV is on the wall.

The XR30M2 does not use one pattern across the range: your 50-inch is 300 × 300 mm, while the 43-inch is 200 × 200, the 55-inch is 300 × 300, the 65-inch is 300 × 300, the 85-inch is 400 × 400, the 100-inch is 600 × 400. A mount will not simply transfer between sizes in this range — check the specific size you own.

Frequently asked questions
What VESA size is the Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch?
The Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch uses a VESA 300 × 300 mm mounting pattern — that is 300 mm horizontally and 300 mm vertically between the four threaded holes on the back of the panel. Its 300 × 300 mm pattern is a standard VESA size, so any mount listing that spacing within its supported range will bolt straight on.
How much does the Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch weigh?
Without its stand, the Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch weighs about 24.6 lb. That is the figure that matters for mounting, because wall mount weight ratings are for the panel alone. At 24.6 lb the panel is light enough that almost any mount rated for its size will carry it comfortably — the VESA pattern, not the weight, is what limits your choice here.
How high should I mount a Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch?
Put the centre of the screen at your seated eye level — about 42 inches from the floor for a standard sofa. On a 50-inch panel that puts the bottom edge around 30 inches from the floor and the top around 54 inches. If it is going above a fireplace or a console that forces it higher, mount as low as the obstruction allows and use a tilting mount to angle the screen back down.
What size mount do I need for the Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch?
You need a mount that supports a VESA pattern of at least 300 × 300 mm, is rated above 24.6 lb, and lists 50 inches inside its supported screen-size range. All three have to be true — a bracket that covers the size range but is rated below the weight is the most common mismatch we see.
Will a 300 × 300 mount reach my studs?
At only 11.8 inches across, this pattern is narrower than the 16 inches between studs — the TV's mounting holes sit between them. The mount's wall plate has to be wide enough to reach two studs, or you need a single-stud mount rated for the full panel weight. Look for a mount whose wall plate is listed as fitting 16, 18 or 24-inch studs — that gives you somewhere to land regardless of what your framing actually does, which is rarely as regular as the plans suggest.
Can the Sony BRAVIA 3 II LED XR30M2 50-inch be mounted on drywall without studs?
At 24.6 lb it is one of the lighter panels, so a heavy-duty toggle anchor system rated well above that weight can work where a stud genuinely cannot be reached. It is still second best. Studs are always the right answer where they exist.
