Custom homes at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club: stone surrounds, built-ins and 85-inch and up
Lake Nona Golf and Country Club is the custom end of the master plan. Your installer sees stone fireplace surrounds, floor-to-ceiling built-ins with a cutout sized for last decade's TV, and 12-foot ceilings. The screens run 85 inches and up, which changes the hardware: four anchors minimum, bracket width chosen to span two studs or two block webs, and a second person on the lift for anything over 77 inches. A stone surround takes 1/4-inch Tapcons through the mortar joint, 5 inches long, into the block or the framing behind it, and carries the +$99 masonry surcharge. A built-in cutout usually needs the back panel reinforced with 3/4-inch plywood lagged to the cabinet framing before the bracket goes on, plus a full-motion arm so the panel can pull forward of the cabinet face. Wiring in these Lake Nona homes often runs to a rack in a closet, so the install is a conversation with the AV plan, not just a hole in the wall. A 98-inch panel sits in the $399 band and takes two technicians. Custom installs run 2-3 hours.
