Windsong Ranch, Star Trail, Whitley Place and Gentle Creek are large brick-and-stone two-story houses and new modern farmhouse builds, with a handful of older, smaller homes still standing around downtown Prosper. Behind the veneer the framing is conventional: drywall over 2x4 wood stud on 16-inch centers, over a slab-on-grade foundation poured into expansive Blackland Prairie clay. The scale is what changes the work here, since two-story family rooms and full-height stone veneer chimney breasts are common. The signature room in a Prosper house is the two-story family room, and Windsong Ranch and Star Trail are full of them. All that open wall above the fireplace tempts people to hang the TV high, and a mount at 70 inches off the floor is the single most common thing we get called back to lower. Your installer sets the panel center against the seating, 42 to 48 inches off the floor for a sofa, and only climbs higher when a mantel or a stone face leaves no other option, in which case a tilt bracket takes some of the neck strain back out. The walls themselves are conventional: drywall over 2x4 wood stud on 16-inch centers, framing that is new enough to be straight and consistently marked. A 75-inch panel takes four 1/4-inch lag bolts across two studs on a spanning plate, and a full-motion arm at full extension loads the top anchors far harder than a fixed mount does. Level gets laser-checked after torque. Typical Prosper install: 50 to 70 minutes.
Full-height stone veneer and cast stone chimney breasts are everywhere in Prosper, and they are the most unforgiving surface in the house. Stone veneer chips at edges and corners, so every anchor is placed at least 3 inches inside the face of a stone rather than near a joint line, and the bit runs at low speed with the hammer function off until it has bitten in. Carbide bit, 1/4-inch Tapcon anchors, dust caught at the hole with a vacuum so the stone face does not stain. Before any of that, a heat sweep: twenty minutes of full burn on the gas insert, then an infrared reading of the surface where the panel would sit. Under 100 degrees a fixed or tilt mount is fine. Above about 120, and a flush face with no mantel shelf gets there, we move to a pull-down that parks the screen at eye level and lifts it clear afterward. Masonry adds the published +$99 surcharge. Allow 85 to 120 minutes on a tall stone wall.
A fair number of Prosper floor plans include a media room, usually upstairs and usually with a wall the builder framed and pre-wired for it. Those rooms are a different job from a family room mount. The screen goes on a wall with no window behind it, and the mount height drops, because tiered or single-row seating in a media room sits closer to the wall than a family room sofa does. Your installer checks what the builder actually left in the wall, since a pre-wire is often a conduit sleeve with a pull string rather than finished cable, which makes running an HDMI easy if it is found and a demolition problem if it is not. Runs past 25 feet go fiber-optic HDMI. Rooms over a garage are framed on engineered joists with kneewall sections where the framing simply stops partway up, so the bracket lands on real lumber rather than on the chalk line. Soundbar or speaker mounting is $79 installed. Media room installs run 70 to 100 minutes.
The larger-lot houses through Whitley Place and Gentle Creek change the arithmetic on cable more than they change the anchoring. Framing is the same drywall over wood stud, but a run from the TV wall to a media closet can cross 40 or 50 feet, and copper HDMI starts losing signal well before that, so those jobs go fiber-optic HDMI as a matter of course rather than as an upsell. Long horizontal runs also mean crossing more framing, and every plate a fish tape has to negotiate adds time. Where the route has to go up and over, it enters the attic, and a Collin County attic runs past 130 degrees from June through September, so that portion gets a morning slot and CL3-rated cable. Two-story plans carry fire blocking at the mid-wall line that the tape works around rather than through. Power on the TV wall is handled with an in-wall power kit rather than a cord hidden in the drywall. Concealment is $95 per TV regardless of distance, with no travel or footage add-on. Longer runs add 60 to 90 minutes.
Not everything in Prosper was built in the last fifteen years. The blocks around downtown Prosper hold a scattering of older, smaller houses, and they behave nothing like a Windsong Ranch great room. Ceilings are lower, usually 8 feet, which puts the panel and the console close together and keeps the cable run short. Framing is older and less predictable, so a stud finder reading gets confirmed with a rare-earth magnet on the drywall screw line and, where the reading is still doubtful, a small probe hole hidden inside the bracket footprint. Older lumber has dried hard, which grips a lag bolt well but splits if the pilot is undersized, so pilots run at 3/16 inch and the bolts go in on a torque-controlled driver rather than an impact gun. Rooms are smaller, which usually means a 55-inch or 65-inch panel rather than the 85-inch screens common out in the master-planned sections, and the mount height drops accordingly. Cable on these walls often does better in a paintable raceway than behind a patch that never quite matches. These installs run 45 to 65 minutes.
In-wall concealment is $95 per TV in Prosper and the method changes with the wall. On drywall it is straightforward: paired openings, in-wall-rated cable, flush plates, and an in-wall power kit so nothing resembling an extension cord ends up buried in the wall. On a full-height stone veneer chimney breast, cutting is off the table, so cable follows the chase the builder left beside the firebox where one exists, or drops through a raceway color-matched to the stone where it does not. Above a mantel the raceway can often hide behind the shelf entirely. Where a run leaves the wall it goes into the attic, the only route available in a Prosper house, which makes summer heat a scheduling question rather than a technical one. Those runs get a morning slot and CL3-rated cable that will not soften at 130 degrees, and anything past 25 feet moves to fiber-optic HDMI. Every wall opening gets a flush plate rather than a rough hole. Concealment adds 45 to 80 minutes depending on the surface.

The clay does what it does everywhere in the metro. Blackland Prairie soil under every slab-on-grade foundation in Prosper swells in spring and shrinks by late August, so foundation movement opens a settlement crack over a doorway and closes it a season later, and anchors go into framing instead of into patched drywall near a moving joint. Attic heat past 130 degrees decides when an overhead run happens, and hail season is why a patio TV gets outdoor-rated cable and a sealed penetration through the veneer.
