Field notes from Bellaire installs
Bellaire is a small city with Houston around every side of it, and the housing stock has been turning over for two decades. One block gives you a 1940s cottage or a 1950s ranch that never changed hands, and beside it a rebuild finished last spring. The wall is entirely different depending on which door you walk through.
Our installer plans for both before arriving. Originals mean plaster over lath: tape, no hammer mode, a stepped pilot, framing found by magnet rather than a stud finder that reads lath as solid wood. Rebuilds near Southdale mean drywall over wood stud on tight 16-inch centers, often with builder blocking behind the intended TV wall. Brick fireplace faces take Tapcons and the masonry surcharge; the inside face of a brick veneer wall does not.
Water and humidity set the rest. Houses toward the Braeswood edge and the Brays Bayou side often carry a flood-cut seam across the wall, and that seam gets found before any anchor goes in. Attic cable is CL3-rated and penetrations get sealed the day they are cut.
TV mounting prices in Bellaire
Bellaire installs are priced by screen size, quoted upfront: $129 up to 54”, $159 for 55-69”, $209 for 70-79”, $255 for 80” and up. Cable concealment $95/TV. The +$99 masonry surcharge applies to brick, stone and concrete; plaster, drywall and metal stud carry none. So a painted-brick fireplace face in a Bellaire ranch is the surcharge, while the plaster in that same house and the drywall in the rebuild next door are both standard rate.
