Field notes from Henderson installs
Two Hendersons, two toolkits. The townsite grid around Water Street is 1940s and 1950s concrete block, and every mount is a masonry job: hammer drill, 3/16-inch carbide bit, 1/4-inch Tapcons into the solid webs, +$99 surcharge, raceway. Some have been furred with drywall since; we find the strapping and reach through to the block.
Everything else is wood frame under stucco, drywall inside, tile roof on top. Green Valley and Whitney Ranch (1980s-1990s) bring the entertainment niche. MacDonald Ranch and Anthem bring hillside lots, cultured-stone gas fireplaces and casitas. Inspirada and Cadence are new drywall, with a builder media box behind the TV wall if you are lucky. Green Valley Ranch condos are metal stud and toggles.
Seismic Design Category D sets the anchoring on all of it: framing or masonry, rated hardware, four points on big panels, arms locked. Desert heat places every garage and patio screen. No basements in Henderson; cables go through the wall cavity, not the attic.
