For 75 inches on a budget: the TAVR tripod lists 23-75 inches and 100 lb. A tripod’s legs take more floor than a flat base, so measure the space in front of the sofa first.
For 85 inches: the FITUEYES stand is the one sold for 50-85 inch TVs. Its listing title doesn’t state a weight rating, and 85-inch TVs vary from about 75 to 105 lb (our 85 to 100-inch guide has the spec-sheet table), so read the product details before you buy.
Can a floor stand hold a big TV safely?
Yes, if three things line up. The rating clears the TV’s weight with margin. The base is wide enough for the screen. And the TV sits centered over the pole, not hanging off to one side, which is the load case that tips stands over. Keep the height at the lowest setting that still gives you a comfortable view: about 42 inches to the center of the screen from a sofa, and 42-50 inches from a bed, the same numbers as for a wall mount. With children or pets in the house, use the anti-tip strap if the stand comes with one. Most straps need one small screw into the wall; many leases allow a hole that size, so check yours.
Are tension pole TV mounts a good choice?
For a small room with a solid ceiling, yes. A tension pole compresses between the floor and ceiling, so it takes almost no floor space. Skip them under a drop ceiling or a soft ceiling, and tighten the pole fully when it goes up.

- A stand rated right at your TV’s weight. Leave the margin. A stand near its limit sways every time someone bumps it.
